WALK OF SHAME (WOS) is an artist collective based in Bergen, Norway, established in 2012. We create open, playful and experimental spaces for cross-sector collaboration across art forms, disciplines and communities. Through artistic methods from performing arts, visual arts and science fiction, we develop workshops, installations and performances that invite participants into collective exploration, worldbuilding and critical imagination. Our practice is rooted in collaborative processes where artists, educators, researchers, activists, musicians, local communities and friends meet through hands-on, sensory and speculative approaches.
We are interested in creating spaces where experimentation, participation and unexpected encounters can happen across established boundaries and fields of knowledge. Our visual universe combines elements of club culture, natural landscapes, trash culture, speculative fiction and consumer aesthetics. We often work site-specifically and outside traditional spaces of spectatorship, exploring new ways of gathering, sensing and imagining together.
We have emigrated from our former website service due to political reasons, so please be patient with us while we update this site with new projects, documentation and future plans. WALK OF SHAME currently consists of Hanne Maren Meldahl, Karoline Skuseth, Ida Charlotte Brønn, our collaborators, friends and the local communities we are surrounded by.
